Distance learning system has spread its sphere much more in comparison
to regular or full time courses. Botswana has experienced the urgency of
spreading education all over its territory and therefore started
scattering the different modes of education. The urgency to increase the
educational institutions to provide more degrees to students has led to
establish learning through distance mode. It was not possible to
increase the seats as well as institutes any more. But the demands of
students to study and to achieve their goals have led down the
university to start correspondence program.
At the same time it is not possible to provide ample space as well as perfect timings to those who aspire to achieve more education. It is not possible to act according to the needs and demands of the students always, therefore Botswana University has inculcated distance learning program in its proforma.
