The life of a pilot can seem exciting and even glamourous to many but it can also seem a little hectic, what with all those deadlines to meet and schedules to keep.  In reality, all those schedules to keep may grow a little tedious at times.  To put the most exciting spin on a career after flight school, a pilot in training may want to consider becoming a rescue helicopter pilot.Most of the nation's flight schools offer helicopter training that leads to a helicopter license.  Once used almost exclusively by the military, helicopters are now commonly used every day in commercial settings as well as for government agencies other than the military.  In most cases, a commercial helicopter pilot salary and a commercial pilot salary are quite similar, as are the benefits usually associated with a pilot's job.One could use his or her helicopter pilot training as a medial evacuation (medivac) pilot, rescuing people in distress due to many circumstances.  Pilots using their helicopter license to transport patients to and from emergency rooms and hospital facilities often provide a truly life-saving service.Another excellent and compassionate way to put helicopter lessons to good use is as a helicopter pilot who rescues people trapped in remote or precarious locations as a result of accident or acts of nature, such as avalanches and landslides, floods, fires, shipwrecks, and the like.The nation's many news agencies rely on helicopters and their pilots to put a reporting team right at the center of the story.  Putting one's helicopter flight training experience to use this way could mean a relatively low-risk job reporting on traffic and the weather but it could lead to more adrenalin-pumping work reporting from the scene of accidents, crimes, war, and catastrophic acts of nature.Yes, there are deadlines to meet and schedules to keep even when the outcome of flight school is a helicopter license but the missions may be a lot more exciting than routinely transporting people and freight from one destination to the next.  The faint of heart need not apply.
