Web Design Becomes a Family Affair

It all started when Bill Byerley decided he needed to earn some extra cash to send his son to college. Even though neither he nor his son had taken a web design course, his son knew a bit about HTML and building websites, so the two started a web design company and sold their services to local businesses.
After six years, their company, PageDesk, has over 150 clients, and plenty of money to pay for college. They've become so busy that they've brought on the rest of the family to help out. Byerley's wife is the chief financial officer, and his daughter is the vice president of design.

HTML the Key to Business's Start

In today's computer age, almost any organization that wants to be taken seriously needs a website. For this reason, the demand for web design services is constantly rising, allowing small mom-and-pop shops like PageDesk to prosper. At first, knowing HTML was all the Byerley family needed to get business in their relatively small suburb.

Web Design Courses Needed for Growth

But as their business--and the sophistication of the web--grew, being self-taught wasn't enough, and they needed to learn more with web design courses. Although the young Byerley had taught himself how to create web pages using HTML, he eventually took a number of other web design courses to round out his professional education. Attending web design school enabled him to offer cutting-edge services, like Flash and JavaScript web design, to his clients, and helped keep the business growing.

Online Web Design School a Good Start

While it is possible to teach yourself some of the basics of web design, if you want to become a professional web designer, you'll benefit from a more comprehensive education, which you'll receive in web design school and web design programs online. In your web design courses, you'll learn about advanced design tools and technologies, such as Flash web design and JavaScript, among other tools.
These days, you can find web design programs online, and learn web design from the comforts of your own home. Online web design school offers opportunities to develop the advanced skills you'll need for a successful web design career while learning at your own pace anytime that's convenient for you.
